Coasteering has been delivered since 1986, and has now been pioneered by Lizard Adventure as the most Southerly Coasteering that you can do in England.
Explore along the coastline where the sea meets the cliffs, doing all those things that your mother told you not to do – disappear around the headland, go into the cave, time your passage past waves, swim to islands and of course jump off cliffs! And that is just for starters…
When done with a group of friends or family, we think that there is no better way to spend time together, and no taller stories that get told afterwards.
It can be as adventurous or as non adventurous as you wish the defiition of coasteering is:
“Coasteering is a physical activity that encompasses movement along the intertidal zone of a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming, without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft” – Wikipedia.
But it is better to show than to define, have a look at the 2 videos below
J-P, the Director of Lizard Adventure has been delivering Coasteering since its inception at TYF Adventure, St. Davids, Pembrokeshire. He has written the book (about to be published), and does all of his own in house training to his high standards, not allowing Guides to lead groups until he is totally satisfied of their ability, knowledge and safety.
He has coasteered around the world, is a Technical Advisor for other providers and has racked up more than 10 seasons of delivery whilst leading and managing over 20 staff delivering it. We can’t promise that it is an activity that is 100% without risk, however we can promise that we have done all that we can to minimize any risks.
Being a watersport you will need certain clothing Lizard Adventure Kit List gives you and idea of what you will need.
